El magisterio nacional esta en pie de lucha por la defensa de los derechos de los hijos del pueblo a una educación pública gratuita y de calidad, así mismo por la defensa de la estabilidad y los derechos laborales de los maestros. En tal sentido, el Paro Nacional es contra la privatización de la educación, vía la municipalización, y contra los anteproyectos de Ley de la Carrera Pública Magisterial que eliminan la estabilidad y barren de un plumazo los derechos laborales.
La arremetida contra el pueblo peruano se viene aplicando desde la década de los 90, con la aprobación de una Constitución de corte neoliberal impuesta por la dictadura fujimontesinista. Esto no fue fruto de la casualidad, sino que fueron impuestos por el Imperialismo Norteamericano en complicidad con las burguesías locales, inclusive a través de golpes de estado avalados por los organismos supranacionales como la ONU y la OEA, cuya misión es velar por el respeto de los principios democráticos en el mundo y en nuestro continente.
Así como en el Perú con Fujimori se inició el viraje hacia el ultraneoliberalismo, en Venezuela fue con Carlos Andrés Pérez (compadre espiritual de Alan García), en Argentina con Saúl Menen, en México con Vicente Fox, en Bolivia con Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada entre otros; aplicaron políticas económicas que privatizaron los servicios básicos (luz, teléfono, etc.), aumentaron el índice de pobreza y la desocupación, aumentaron la deuda externa mediante préstamos con intereses leoninos, pusieron el sistema bancario en manos del capital extranjero especulativo, modificaron las Constituciones para saquear los recursos naturales, se flexibilizó la relación laboral para explotar los recursos humanos, se fomentó desde las altas esferas del poder la corrupción y el robo de los recursos fiscales.
En cumplimiento de los postulados del neoliberalismo, los gobiernos títeres de Fujimori, Alejandro Toledo y en la actualidad Alan García han aplicado políticas económicas digitadas por los organismos financieros internacionales como el Fondo Monetario Internacional, el Banco Mundial, el Banco Interamericano del Desarrollo, entre otros; con la finalidad de expoliar los recursos naturales, humanos y financieros.
En nuestro país se vive una crisis estructural de la educación, sin embargo el gobierno en complicidad con la prensa mercenaria se han encargado de crear una opinión contraria a los maestros, culpándolos de todos los males de la educación, ocultar las verdaderas raíces, causas y culpables reales de esta debacle, ocultar el engranaje existente entre la crisis económica de los sectores populares que se refleja en el plano educativo. Este siniestro plan obedece a dar cumplimiento las recetas impuestas por el Banco mundial, consignadas en el documento "Un nuevo contrato social para el Perú", cuyas recomendaciones sostienen que los maestros "menos motivados" deberán ser sacados del sistema educativo; para lo cual se viene discutiendo en la Comisión de Educación el aberrante anteproyecto de Ley de la Carrera Pública Magisterial que considera las evaluaciones para el despido masivo de maestros.
Del mismo modo se ordena privatizar las escuelas públicas, con el eufemismo de la "adopción", pasando previamente por la municipalización, con la finalidad de precarizar los colegios y producir el caos salarial y laboral para justificar su traspaso a la voracidad de los empresarios y promotores, esquilmando los magros bolsillos de los más pobres.
